Think your letters don't matter?

It's worth noting that there are a number of state elected officials that are undecided when it comes to Hydrofracking.

Then, there are others who are taking a very hard stance, and even trying to pass legislation that would hold landowners who have signed leases responsible for accidents caused by gas companies that happen on their property (Barbara Lifton, D-Ithaca).

The point is that NOW is the time to have your voice be heard.

Calling all members and friends - “Say YES to Marcellus, Stop the Frackin’ Lies” Rally

January 25, 2010 in Albany, New York

... Because Enough Really Is Enough!

They’re Spreading Lies!
On Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Various extremist groups will converge at the West Side of the New York State Capitol in Albany, to rally AGAINST natural gas exploration. These groups have continued to spread lies and outrageous accusations about the exploration of natural gas in New York’s Marcellus Shale, and now they’re going to Albany to try and convince lawmakers with their tall tales to stop drilling Marcellus before it even starts.

Letter #1

As a landowner in the town of xx, I have become increasingly frustrated by those who are opposed to the possibility of increased exploration in this region of the state. While natural gas exploration has been conducted safely in New York for decades, the public has repeatedly been exposed to misinformation and gross exaggerations by environmental extremists whose accusations are nothing more than scare tactics.

Drilling is safe; New York has among the most stringent environmental standards in the United States. Drilling has been conducted safely in New York for more than 100 years.

Industry is committed to safety and environmental protection. The last thing the industry wants is any violation of environmental law resulting in heavy fines and/or the inability to do business in New York.

Wells are open as long as they are productive, then capped, allowing for the landscape to return to its natural state.
